A dispensible substance is provided at a defined height on a structurable surface (film). The substance height on the film determines the amount of material to be transferred.
When transferring the substance, the component must be pressed down to the foil. This guarantees a constant and defined substance transfer. It should be noted that in addition to the wetting of the bottom side a wetting of the side surfaces can occur. This depends on the surface tension.
The immersion and lifting must be done at a defined speed. For the repeatability of a defined substance transfer, it is important that this speed is identical for each subsequent process.
There are 2 variants for the realisation of the immerson.
Version 1: Immersion in an unstructured substance. The workpiece is wetted on its bottom side wherever the substance reaches the bottom side of the component. This is usually used for structured components.
Version 2: A component is dipped in a structured substance. In this case, the component is only wetted where the structured substance wets the component. This method is often used for unstructured components, for example, to save adhesive on large surfaces.
A consistent waiting time during wetting is also important for the repeatability of the process.
The transfer of the substance takes place via adhesive power. Therefore, the material properties as in all dispesning processes are again of highest importance.
